Times Flies and Other One-Act Comedies
Recently, the RCDS Drama Department, under the direction of Marsha Korb Predovic, put on Time Flies and Other One-Act Comedies by David Ives.
The show was a magnificent success. Each person who saw the play has had nothing but good things to say about it, and most audience members saw it more than once. I got to see it twice. All cast members performed spectacularly with great success in portraying characters almost nothing like themselves. The show was packed with riotous jokes; the audience didn’t stop laughing for longer than one minute at a time.
The show contained seventeen members of our Upper School, four of whom were seniors: Alan Darer, Angelina Torreano, Tim Bidon, and Tie Taylor. Angelina, Alan, and Tim each got to appear as two characters, since there was a total of six individual sketches. Returning to stage as husband and wife again, Maeve Crispi (grade 10) and Cedric Bluman (grade 11) took the role of an innocent young couple whose TV set was a primary part of their lives, to say the least. From hilariously helpless mayflies to hopeful construction workers all the way to harmless lab-chimps, our upper schoolers put on a truly entertaining performance.
