Rockland Country Day School (RCDS) welcomes students from around the world to its twenty-acre campus in Congers, New York.
Rockland Country Day School (RCDS) welcomes domestic and international students to its twenty-acre campus in Congers, New York. We have a small but growing boarding student population in response to increasing international and domestic interest in our school. Students 14 years of age and older are eligible for our boarding program. We offer 5-day and 7-day boarding.
Our Student Life Office ensures that our boarding students are fully integrated into campus life by organizing school-wide weekend trips, extracurricular, co-curricular, and athletic programs that build on students' innate desire to connect with others in and outside of the classroom.
As an English language immersion program for international students, everyone is expected to speak English on campus at all times and participate fully in the life of the school. We are committed to providing a nurturing, safe, comfortable, and stimulating campus life experience for students.
In our residence hall, boarding students enjoy spacious rooms. Each student has a bed, bureau, desk and chair, and all rooms have walk-in closets, private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, cable television connections, and large windows- very similar to what the student will find on a college campus. There is also a community room for group gatherings, a community kitchen, dining area, laundry room, and a large outdoor deck with a barbeque grill, tennis courts, and a field for soccer. A rotating team of dorm parents provide 24/7 supervision. Both studying and recreation are an expectation of every weekend, and students are expected to abide by the dorm rules. On the weekends, trips to New York City are common and we transport students to take care of personal errands and shopping.
Process for Domestic Students
Our domestic boarding students are admitted using the same process of as our day students. Please see our Middle and Upper School admissions process for more information.
Process for International Students
Rockland Country Day School is registered with and accredited by SEVIS, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, and is authorized to issue I-20′s to international students so that they may acquire an F-1 Visa. If a student is unable to take the TOEFL test in time to be considered for admission for the upcoming school year, a writing sample using Skype is also acceptable. Calll our Admissions Office at 845-268-6802 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this option.
Our boarding program, like our school, provides the best of both worlds: a beautiful, bucolic, safe, environment- minutes from one of the best cities in the world!
