Each year, approximately 1.5 Million students enter the National Merit Scholarship program. Students, such as Eli Chang, scoring in the top 1 percent are usually named semi-finalists and just over 8,000 are named finalists.  Adam Kapilow has moved to the next level of competition and will find out in the fall whether he stands as a “commended” student or “semi-finalist.”

In recognition of their outstanding academic promise, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation acknowledges these students at every level of the competition. Students who have qualified for recognition are a source of pride for themselves, their families, and their school communities. Great Job Eli and Adam! We are very proud of you.
