Advancement
The Magnolia Fund, named for the magnificent tree which grows outside the Head of School's office, is our annual appeal for essential support of our school operations that tuition revenue alone cannot fund. As with other independent schools, the cost of educating each student is more than the tuition received; but unlike many other schools, we don’t have an endowment on which we can rely for an income stream. Our goal is to continue investing in every aspect of school life, delivering the highest standard of education to present and future generations of RCDS students.
Gifts to the Magnolia Fund are especially powerful because they go to work immediately. Whether your contribution helps to fund tuition assistance, classroom materials, capital projects or other priorities, every gift makes a difference in the RCDS experience for our students. Tuition assistance for example, provides some level of support to 42% of our families. The average percentage in independent schools in our region is 23%, making it clear that RCDS values socioeconomic diversity in our family and student body.
No aspect of RCDS is left untouched by the Magnolia Fund and the generosity of legions of families, alumni, and friends of the school. Every gift, large or small, makes a positive difference and is more important than ever. We hope you will join us in contributing to the Magnolia Fund….and thank you in advance!
